João Gilberto Tribute Concert

João Gilberto, one of Brazil's greatest musicians and composer, died in Rio de Janeiro on July 6, 2019. His music in the late 1950s was considered a game-changer for Brazilian music and he is often credited with helping develop the sound of the genre that brought Brazilian music to the world. His versions of songs like Quiet Nights and The Girl from Ipanema became standards in world music.

Gilberto's music inspired me throughout my life. I have decided to make a tribute concert in honor and remembrance of him because of the heavy influence his music had in my life. In this concert I play and sing some songs Gilberto performed and say a few words about how each of these tunes impacted my life.
